Box Score The OKWU Men's soccer team was ready to take the field again after not playing the previous two weeks. They would kick off the OKWU 2020 Homecoming day games by hosting the Avila University Eagles for a 3 PM KCAC matchup at the OKWU Soccer Complex. From the opening kick, OKWU offense was in high gear. Lindo Zwane got the scoring rolling after Filip Cavic delivered a great pass through the Avila defense and OKWU never looked back the rest of the game. The OKWU offense was relentless as they quickly built up their school record 18-0 lead at halftime.
The second half was much of the same as the OKWU Eagles would collect 9 more goals before the final whistle, with the 27-0 victory(school-record). Oklahoma Wesleyan finished the match with 66 total shots, 43 on-goal (school-record), 25 assists and 8 different Eagles scoring goals.
Stefan Cvetanovic helped lead the high octaned Eagle offense as he broke the NAIA record of goals scored in a single game with 11, while adding in 6 assists to also break the record for most points scored in a single match with 28 points. Stevan Lukic also directed the OKWU offense as he collected a new NAIA single game record of 11 assists and finding the back of the net 4 times.
Matheus Ferreira was also in on the action as he accounted for 5 assists and 2 goals on the match. Victor Crispim also had a career day with 4 goals. Julio Belo and Amadou Gadio each were able to collect 2 goals apiece. Lindo Zwane and Emiliano James rounded out the OKWU offensive barrage by scoring a goal each.
With the win, the Eagle now move to 5-0 as the 5th ranked team in the NAIA. Their next action will be on the road on Tuesday, October 13th as they will head to York, NE to take on the York College Panthers at 3:00 PM.
