Box Score 4 The Lady Eagles Volleyball team looked to continue their streak following their home victory the previous night as they headed to Winfield, KS to take on Southwestern College Moundbuilders at 12:00 PM and then Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes at 2:00 PM. The Eagles wasted no time in their match against the Moundbuilders as they would go on to win in straight sets (25-15, 25-21, 25-15).
Kenadee Valdez led the OKWU offensive attack as she collected 8 kills, 2 Block solos and a Block assist along with an attacking percentage of .667. Ashley Cook and Nicole Bott both guided the lady Eagles during the match as they both collected 13 assists apiece and Cook adding in 8 digs. Laine Alves locked down the defense for the Eagles as she collected 10 digs, along with 6 kills.
In their second match against the Coyotes, the Eagles found themselves behind early as they dropped the first set 20-25. They would bounce back in a hard fought second set winning 25-21. KWU would go on to win the next two sets (17-25 & 18-25) as OKWU would fall 1-3 in the match overall.
Laine Alves notched 10 kills and 3 aces as well as 18 digs in the match against KWU. Riley Roth also collected 10 kills to go along with 2 Block assists. Kenadee Valdez made her presence known as she had 9 kills and 3 block solos in the match. Nicole Bott and Ashley Cook set the Eagle offense into motion as they had 21 and 18 assists respectively with Bott adding in 11 digs. Bobana Marusic secured the defense for OKWU as she had 21 digs as well as 3 service aces.
The Lady Eagles now improve to 12-3 overall on the season and are 2-2 in KCAC conference play. They will be back in action on Saturday, November 7th as they will hit the road to McPherson, KS for a 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM Tri-Match with McPherson College and Bethany College.
