The OKWU Volleyball team welcomed the MidAmerica Christian University Evangels to the Mueller Sports Center for a 6 PM showdown. It was a battle at the net the whole night as OKWU dropped the first two sets 23-25 and 23-25. The Eagles would bounce back in the third set with a score of 25-20 and would go on to send the match into a fifth set in dramatic fashion with a fourth set score of 27-25. OKWU however falling just short in the final set 11-15.

Laine Alves and Lauren McKinney led the attack for the Eagles as they collected 13 and 11 kills respectively. Alves also added in 26 digs and an ace throughout the match. Setters Nicole Bott and Ashley Cook got directed the OKWU offense as Bott collected 26 assists along with 21 digs, while Cook added in 16 assists and 14 digs of her own. Katie Flack and Bobana Marusic helped secure the backline for the Eagles as they collected 21 and 11 digs respectively with Marusic also adding in 2 aces.

With the tough loss, OKWU now sits at 4-1 on the year and will look to bounce back on Saturday, September 19th as they will head to Sterling College for a Tri-Match with Randall University at 2 PM and Kansas Christian College at 4 PM.
