Box Score The OKWU Eagles men's basketball team hosted a key matchup Wednesday night as they faced off with conference rivals the Bethel Threshers. This game featured the KCAC's top two teams with Bethel sitting at #1 and the Eagles sitting at #2. Coming into the contest, Bethel currently had a 9 game win streak that the Eagles looked to end. Bethel came out the gates fast and set the tone for what was to come. The Eagles at one point found themselves down 8-24. However, the Eagles did mange to get the game into striking distance as they managed to come within 7 with 5 minutes left in the 1st half. By halftime the Eagles were down 25-35. In the 2nd half the Threshers kept up the pace as they held a double digit lead on the Eagles for the rest of the game on their way to a 69-84 win.
Taylen Miller led the Eagles in scoring with 15 points on 6/9 shooting, with 4 rebounds, and an assist. Other Eagles that had double figures in points were Kaleb Stokes and Lense Ramey. Stokes, 5/9 on the night shooting had 10 points and 8 rebounds which led the Eagles. Ramey, 4/9 on the night shooting also had 10 points and 4 rebounds.
The Eagles now sit 9-4 overall and 6-3 in conference play. The Eagles will be back in action Saturday, January 16th as they head North took take on the York College Panthers. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
