Box Score OKWU Volleyball players Addie Mathias, Lauren McKinney, and Maddy McKinney received All-KCAC nods, the conference announced late last week.
Freshman Addie Mathias was named the KCAC Freshman of the Year. Mathias, a native of Loomis, California, played in 26 matches for the Lady Eagles during her freshman campaign. She quickly found herself in a key role for the Lady Eagles and finished the year with 164 kills, 340 assists, 20 total blocks, 186 digs, and 55 service aces. She started in 17 matches during the season. In addition to her Freshman of the Year Award, Mathias was named to the All-KCAC Second Team.
Lauren McKinney, a junior from Delaware, Oklahoma, was named to the All-KCAC First Team after her stellar performance this year. In 27 matches, McKinney recorded 260 kills to lead the Lady Eagles, recorded a .252 hitting percentage, had 27 total blocks, and led the team with 277 points. She also earned KCAC Attacker of the Week twice during the regular season.
McKinney's younger sister, Maddy, was named to the All-KCAC Third Team. The 6'0 sophomore put together an excellent campaign of her own, recording 122 kills in 27 matches to go along with 58 total blocks and 158.5 points produced. She started in every match for the Lady Eagles.
Additionally, one member of the Lady Eagles was on the KCAC Team of Character. Gabi Moore, a junior from Diana, Texas, was named to the KCAC Team of Character for the 2021 season.
The Lady Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals of the KCAC Tournament before falling in 3 sets to Tabor College. OKWU put together a successful season, going 15-12 overall and 8-6 in the conference.
