A strong start on the road Saturday saw the Lady Eagles lead Avila at halftime, but a poor third quarter proved to be the difference as OKWU fell by 12 in the KCAC matchup, losing 66-54.

Recap:

• Both teams were tied at the end of the first quarter, 16-16. The Lady Eagles opened the game shooting better than 46% from the field, with 6 different players getting in the scoring column in the first ten minutes.
• In the second quarter, the Lady Eagles gained a slight edge and went into halftime with a slim 32-29 lead. OKWU's hot shooting continued, as they went 6-13 from the field in the second quarter, good for 46.2%.
• Unfortunately for the Lady Eagles, the third quarter saw the shooting numbers dip to 25%. At the same time, Avila made 4 shots from beyond the arc and won the quarter 19-7.
• The fourth was fairly even, but OKWU could not make up the ground it had lost in the third, eventually falling 66-54 in a hard fought battle.

Now the Numbers:

• OKWU shot just 20% from 3-point land on the afternoon, hitting only 4 from distance. Avila, on the other hand, made 9 3-pointers.
• OKWU committed 25 turnovers on the afternoon, including 8 in the third quarter alone.
• Brittan Garrett led the Lady Eagles with 17 points, while ShaRae Frazier was in double-digits as well, scoring 12 of her own.
• Zariah Tillman led the Lady Eagles with 12 rebounds.
