After opening the game on a 22-7 run in the first quarter, the OKWU Lady Eagles basketball team cruised to a 22 point victory in Saturday's matchup with Friends University. The Lady Eagles had 9 different players contribute to the score sheet in a balanced effort that proved too much for the Falcons. OKWU won 67-45 to improve to 5-6 on the year.

Recap:

• The 1^st quarter was all OKWU as the Lady Eagles held Friends to just 25% shooting and only 7 points in the period. The Lady Eagle bench started the game fast, scoring 14 of the 22 points that OKWU scored in the quarter.
• Things didn't improve much for Friends in the 2^nd quarter, as they were held to 9 points and committed 9 turnovers in the second frame. OKWU, meanwhile, added another 17 points to build a 39-16 halftime lead.
• Friends did battle back in the 3^rd, winning the quarter 25-17 and cutting into the margin slightly.
• But Coach Grace Hadley's defense slammed the door in the 4^th quarter, allowing just 4 points to finish off the Falcons and grab an important KCAC victory.

• The Lady Eagles shot 40% from downtown, making 8 3-pointers on the night.
• The Falcons committed 28 turnovers in the game, which led to 23 OKWU points off turnovers.
• OKWU scored 34 points in the paint and got 33 points from their bench during the game.
• Brittan Garrett scored 12 points and added 5 assists, while Sydnee Schovanec scored 11 and grabbed 5 rebounds. Cierra Johnson also added 11 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers.
• MaKayla Watkins grabbed 5 steals to lead the Lady Eagles' defense.
