The #7 seeded OKWU women's basketball team is not done yet. Thursday, they faced the Bethel Threshers in the Quarterfinal round of the 2021 KCAC Conference Championship. Taking on the #2 seed of the Tournament, the Lady Eagles knew they were going to have to come out playing hard, and they did just that. While taking a lead in the early comings of the game this allowed OKWU to go into half with a 40-35 lead. With OKWU holding onto the lead throughout the entirety of the game, Bethel was still hanging around. Clutch baskets late in the game lead to a 82-70 upset win over the #2 Bethel Threshers.

Leading the game with some late game heroics as well was Anotonio Porter, outdoing herself from Tuesday night for a game high 23 points. Danae Goodwin added 18 with an impressive 8-10 shooting night, while Hannah Nealis and Brittan Garrett put up 13 and 11 points to round out the double figure scorers. It was Melanie Williams leading grabbinga team high 7 rebounds while helping OKWU outrebound the Threshers 41-25.

The pieces are starting to take place for the Lady Eagles on both sides of the court, and it is happening at the right time. With another good matchup ahead in the Semifinal Round versus the #3 seed Tabor College, a win can send them to Hartman Arena to play in the Championship Final. It's a 7pm start for the semifinal round versus the Bluejays, and will be playing at Tabor in Hillsboro, Kansas on Saturday, February 27.
