Eagles Bounce Back in Dominant Fashion

Just two days after their first loss of the season, the Eagles found themselves on the road for yet another KCAC matchup. The Eagles were dominant early and took care of business to grab their 17th win of the season after beating Sterling 120-62.

Recap:

  • After a cold-shooting night on Saturday against Southwestern, the Eagles quickly proved that was not going to become the norm. They scored 68 points in the first half, shooting nearly 60% from the field and making 8 3-pointers in the game's first 20 minutes. They led 68-34 at the half.
  • OKWU continued to dominate in the second half, winning that period 52-28 to secure a 120-62 victory.

Now the Numbers:

  • The Eagles made 14 3-pointers on the night, shooting 40%.
  • They also dominated the glass, outrebounding Sterling 47-25.
  • Brandon Bird continued his strong start to the semester, scoring 19 points on nearly 70% shooting. He also added 5 boards, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
  • Another double-double for Jaden Lietzke, who sored 14 points and secured 10 rebounds on the night.
  • Derrick Talton Jr. continued his strong defensive play this season, snatching 5 steals to lead the team.
