OKWU Wins Close Game at Tabor

Box Score

A rough shooting night allowed Tabor College an opportunity in Thursday's matchup, but the Eagles proved their resilience and held on for a 75-69 win to move them to 18-1 on the year. It was their 12th win in the KCAC.

Recap:

  • Tabor took an early lead thanks to a slow start. OKWU converted just 36.8% of their field goal chances in the first half, but a strong defense that forced 9 Tabor turnovers was the key. Despite a rough offensive period, the Eagles bounced back to hold a 41-33 at the half.
  • OKWU's offense continued to struggle in the second half, but once again turnovers proved the difference. Tabor coughed the ball up 10 times in the half.
  • Tabor did manage to cut the lead to 3 late in the half, but the Eagles held on and converted at the line to extend the lead and secure the victory.

Now the Numbers:

  • OKWU shot under 37% on the evening, including going 8 for 23 from beyond the arc.
  • OKWU's defense forced 19 Tabor turnovers which led to 17 Eagle points.
  • OKWU's bench was very strong once again, scoring 46 points.
  • Lense Ramey led the way off the bench with 17 points, while Kaleb Stokes scored 11, including going 6-8 at the free throw line. No other Eagle scored in double-figures.
