Box Score Leavenworth, KS - Women's Volleyball was on the road October 18th for a conference match-up with the University of Saint Mary Lady Spires. Entering the game 18-4, the Lady Eagles looked to take another conference win in order to stay in the top 3 of conference standings. Taking the game in 4 sets, the Lady Eagles improve to 19-4 on the season, and 8-1 in KCAC play.
Falling behind in the 1st set as the Lady Spires went on a 4-0 run to start the game; the Lady Eagles had to battle all the way back. Unable to overturn the score, the Lady Eagles fell in the first set 25-17, needing a comeback in order to win.
Entering the 2nd set, the Lady Eagles were determined to overturn the scores in the following matches. A back and forth battle between both teams resulted in a 26-24 win in favor of the Lady Eagles, tying the match 1-1. Climbing out of a 1 set deficit, the Lady Eagles went on to take the next three sets from the Spires, securing the win and improving to 8-1 in conference play.
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles, Evelyn Rohrberg & Daisy Scott were superb on the front line, combing for 36 kills. Sophomore setter, Sydney Collins once again showed off her talent with 49 assists and 10 digs; giving herself another double double on the year. The back row was on fire for the Lady Eagles, with 4 defenders in the double digits in digs; Andejla Micunovic (17), Maria Caycedo (14), Valeria Perez (13), and Sydney Collins (10) kept the ball moving.
