Box Score Bartlesville, OK – The Women's Basketball team opened up the 2023-24 season on October 27th with a home match-up against the Langston University Lions. Both teams excited and eager to take the court for the first time this season, the Lady Eagles looked to start off the season with a win.
Ending the first quarter with an 18-9 deficit, the Lady Eagles looked to improve with the remainder of the half to come. Scoring 8 points in the first and 10 in the second quarter, the Lady Eagles entered the 2nd half trailing 32-18.
Entering the 2nd half the Lady Eagles were strong, having their best quarter of the game in the 3rd with 15 points scored. Fighting throughout the final 20 minutes of the game, the Lady Eagles fell short with a score of 63-44 in favor of the Lions.
Leading the Lady Eagles, River Jeffries & Ty'Najah Mitchell ended the night with 7 points scored. Jeffries with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals showed how well she works on both sides of the court. Along with Jeffries, Shade Richardson was excellent defensively for the Lady Eagles; ending her 1st game as a Lady Eagle with 7 rebounds.
