The #7 Men's Basketball team was back on the road November 15th to begin KCAC play against the Bethany College Swedes. The Eagles were coming into the game undefeated at 5-0 and looked to maintain that win streak as they open conference play.
After getting an early 2-0 lead in the first 30-seconds of the game, the Eagles continued to add on and would not trail once throughout the whole game. The Bethany Swedes, however, never trailed too far behind the Eagles. With only a 5-point lead going into the second half, the OKWU offense looked to add on while their defense continued to do what they do best.
The Eagles offense, led by Kaleb Stokes, continued to add on, keeping the score just out of reach for the Bethany Swedes. With the final score being 69-57, the Eagles improved to 6-0 on the overall and start KCAC play off 1-0.
One notable player for the Eagles was Kaleb Stokes, who put up 24 points, 3 assists, and 11 rebounds, making it his best game of the season so far; as well as giving him a double-double. Additionally, Jaden Lietzke managed to put up 16 points, continuing his offensive journey this season.
Defensively, the Eagles were led by DJ Talton Jr. and Taylen Miller. Both individuals accumulated 4 steals and helped the Eagles with their lockdown defense. Additionally, the Eagles were able to collectively get 48 rebounds which nearly doubled the Swede's rebounds.
