Lady Eagles were on the road November 16th facing off against the Bethany College Lady Swedes and started their 2023-24 KCAC Regular Season play.
Looking to start conference season on the right foot, the Lady Eagles started strong and fast, maintaining possession and fighting for the lead throughout the first quarter. Trailing 19-15 after the first quarter, the Lady Eagles were quick to put points on the board, overtaking the Swedes and finding rhythm offensivily. Leading 21-19 over the Lady Swedes, the Lady Eagles looked consistent as they fought through lead changes a majority of the 2nd quarter.
Entering the second half trailing 31-23, the Lady Eagles were eager to get their offense moving; looking to regain the lead and push through a strong deficit.
Entering the second half the Lady Eagles looked to battle their way back in the third quarter, hoping to close the gap and regain the lead. A chipper game, with a total of 10 fouls going into the fourth quarter; the Lady Eagles fell short due to a 7 point 3rd. Going into the fourth quarter the Lady Eagles looked at a 15-point deficit, but continued to push the pace in order to get shots up. Unable to close the gap, the Lady Eagles fell to the Lady Swedes 62-42 in regular time.
Leading the Lady Eagles, Rashaan Smith accumulated 12 points, followed by Zariah Tillman and Mahaley Farmer both with 7 points on the night. Zariah Tillman led the Lady Eagles with 10 rebounds.
