Volleyball named KCAC Regular Season Champs for the First Time in Program History

The Lady Eagles were on the road for their final KCAC regular season match-up of the year against the Bethel College Lady Threshers. Entering the game tied in conference and in the top spot of the KCAC polls, both teams were looking to earn the KCAC Regular Season Championship. A fight to the finish, the Lady Eagles were determined to win and make history once again this season.

Coming out of firing, the Lady Eagles took no time to put some points on the board, outscoring the Lady Threshers 25-10 in the first set. Taking the first set the Lady Eagles seemed comfortable and consistent, making strives at every point possible. Heading into the second set the Lady Threshers came back strong after falling in the first and took control of the set early on. Unable to overtake the Bethel offense, the Lady Eagles fell in the second set, tying the match 1-1 heading into the third.

From that point on, the Lady Eagles took the lead and control and never looked back. Defeating their opponent 25-16 in the third set and 25-17 in the fourth. The Lady Eagles were led by junior, Daisy Scott with 15 kills on the day. Following closely behind Scott, Makaila Keith was on top of her game with 12 kills. Sydney Collins had another stellar performance, with 43 assists Collins once again proved why she is a top setter in the KCAC. Lastly, Andjela Micunovic was a vacuum as libero for the Lady Eagles, ending her night with 26 digs.

The Lady Eagles earned themselves The KCAC Regular Season Championship for the first time in OKWU history! They ended regular season with only 1 loss, giving them their best regular season conference finish at 12-1.

The lady Eagle's await their competitor for the KCAC Tournament that will take place on Friday in Hutchinson, KS.
