Box Score 2 Ottawa, KS – The RV Volleyball team was on the road tonight for Day 1 of the Ottawa University Invitational where they faced off against the #18 Ottawa University Lady Braves and the Hastings College Lady Broncos. While facing the hosts the Ottawa Lady Braves, the Lady Eagles opened conference play and looked to redeem their 2022 season.
In game one of the invite, the Lady Eagles fought till the very end in a 5 set fall against the Lady Braves. Falling in set one 18-25, the Lady Eagles went on a tear the second set and started out with a 7-0 lead against the Lady Braves. Unable to maintain the lead, the Lady Eagles fell in the second set 24-26 and looked to keep the fight going in the remaining set. Doing so, they went on to win the next two sets in high scoring fashion, forcing a fifth, winner take all set five. With the game at stake, both teams controlled the lead through the set, as Ottawa rose above and won 16-14 to take the match over the Lady Eagles.
Looking for redemption and a rematch against the Hastings College Lady Broncos, the Lady Eagles were superb throughout game two of the invitational. Starting off strong with a 25-18 win in set one, the Lady Eagles were confident and consistent throughout the two remaining sets, sweeping the Lady Broncos and defeating the Lady Broncos after falling to them earlier in the year.
