Women's Basketball was home for a KCAC match-up against the Evangel University Valor on January 11th. Coming off of an exciting win their last game, the Lady Eagles looked to keep the momentum on their side and keep their energy high against the Valor.
Staying relatively close throughout the first half, the Lady Eagles closed the first half trailing 28-22. Needing to push the pace of the final half, the Lady Eagles fell short with only a 9 point 3rd quarter. After a slow 3rd quarter, the Lady Eagles bounced back and scored 22 points in the final quarter and looked to regain ground on the Lady Valor. Unfortunately, this was not enough to build back their deficit and the Lady Eagles fell to the Lady Valor 65-53.
Off the bench, Zariah Tillman led the Eagles offensively with 14 points in 27 minutes of play. Along with her 14 points, Tillman was impressive defensively with 5 steals and 4 rebounds. Haley Meely was also impressive for the Lady Eagles with 12 points, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds.
