5 Eagles Earn Double Digits in Win over Friends

The #4 Men's Basketball team was in Bartlesville the night of the 17th for an 8:00 PM tip-off against the Friends University Falcons. Looking to continue their win streak, the Eagles were eager to get on the court and add a win to their win column.

Starting off the first half with a bang, the Eagles went up 7-0 in the first 3 minutes of play. Not allowing the Flacons to score until the 4th minute of play, the Eagles looked defensively strong and willing to push the pace in order to get the ball to the paint. Keeping the game fairly close, the Falcons pushed back in order to make it a four-point game in the 9th minute with a score of 12-18. This is where the Eagles took off, taking the lead to 12 and ending the first half 37-23 in favor of the Eagles.

Entering the second half with a lead, the Eagles were explosive throughout the second half. Scoring 55 points in 20 minutes, the Eagles were quick to the goal and strong on both ends. Shooting 60% from the paint, the Eagles gained control of the game and held on to all the momentum with 10 minutes left of play time.

With 5 different Eagles in double digits, the Eagles were clearly in sync and remained consistent. DJ Talton Jr. led the Eagles with 22 points scored, going 9-11 in field goal makes per attempts, and accumulated a whopping 6 steals. Jaden Lietzke was not far behind Talton, scoring 16 points and ending the night perfect; shooting 100% from the field and from the free throw line. Jaden Wilson had himself a night as well, scoring 13 points with 8 rebounds to lead the Eagles defensively.

The Eagles are on the road this upcoming Saturday, the 20th for a top KCAC contest against the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes. The Eagles are set to tip-off at 8:00PM in Salina, Kansas.
