The Lady Eagles were in Bartlesville on January 17th for a conference match-up with the Friends University Lady Falcons for a 6:00 PM tip-off. The Lady Eagles looked to turn the page in conference play and gain momentum heading into the later of conference.
Starting off strong, the Lady Eagles went up 6-0 with 7 minutes of play left in the first quarter. Looking dominant on both sides of the court, the Lady Eagles pushed the pace and help the momentum on their side. With back-to-back steals from Zariah Tillman and Haley Meely, the Lady Eagles were up 10-0 with 5 minutes left. Continuing their lockdown defense, the Lady Eagles were up 15-0 at 3:27 in the 1st, giving the Lady Falcons their first opportunity at the free throw line; with two makes the game stood at 15-2. Ending the first quarter with a 17-11, the Lady Eagles needed to keep up the pace to hold the Lady Falcons heading into the 2nd half.
The Lady Falcons started off the second quarter strong, cutting their deficit to only 4 points in the 2nd minute of the 2nd quarter. With a minute left of play, the Lady Flacons upped their game and took the score to 30-24 in favor of the Lady Eagles. Ending the 1st half leading 30-28, the Lady Eagles needed to fight till the finish with the 20 minutes of play to come.
The second half was all fight from the Lady Falcons, overcoming the deficit and taking full control of the game. The Lady Eagles had their best quarter in the first with 17 points, slowly declining in points scored throughout the remainder of the game. Falling 78-50 to the Lady Falcons, the Lady Eagles move to 2-9 in conference play.
River Jeffries led the Lady Eagles offensively, scoring 11 points in 32 minutes of play. Zariah Tillman was excellent defensively with 3 steals and 4 rebounds.
