The Lady Eagles were on their home court on Saturday, January 6th with a top KCAC competitor, the Sterling College Lady Warriors. Looking for a shift in energy to start the year, the Lady Eagles were eager to push the pace of the game against the Lady Warriors and build on strong possessions.
The Lady Warriors started the game quickly, outscoring the Lady Eagles 22-14 in the first 10 minutes of play. This only pushed the Lady Eagles through and have themselves their highest scoring quarter int eh second. Scoring 25 points in the second quarter, the Lady Eagles ended the first half leading 39-33.
With the lead, the Lady Eagles exploded throughout the second half and held a firm presence on both sides of the court. Jaelin Glass was a standout player for the Lady Eagles, going 9-10 in the pain and scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. Along with Glass, Haley Meely was superb throughout her 28 minutes of play. Scoring 16 points, Meely also accumulated 5 steals, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles worked very well on defense throughout the night. Accumulating 15 steals and 24 defensive rebounds.
