The Women's Basketball team was in Bartlesville the afternoon of February 10th for a KCAC match-up against the Tabor College Lady Bluejays. Looking to regain confidence, the Lady Eagles looked to push the pace against the 2nd seeded Lady Bluejays.
Starting off the game with a possession from the Lady Eagles, the game began quickly as both teams looked to score. Scoring first, the Lady Buejays took a small lead as the game was back and forth within the first 10 minutes of play. Ending the first half trailing slightly to the Lady Bluejays, the Lady Eagles were down 11-10 with a lot of opportunity to earn back a lead. Looking to the second quarter of four, the Lady Bluejays took an explosive lead with an 18-point quarter, while the Lady Eagles slowed their offense with a 12 point 2nd.
Starting the 2nd half trailing to the Lady Bluejays 29-22, the Lady Eagles needed to find energy and push the pace of the game in order to cut the deficit. Doing just that, the Lady Eagles were quick to score and take cut the Lady Bluejays lead to 2 with 4 minutes left. Matching the Lady Bluejays with a 15 point 3rd quarter, the Lady Eagles held momentum and looked strong heading into the final 10 minutes of the game. The start of the 4th quarter shifted all the energy and gave way to a Tabor College 26-point quarter. Although it was a strong 18-point quarter for the Lady Eagles, they were unable to overcome the strong scoring drive from the Lady Bluejays.
The Lady Eagles fell to the Lady Bluejays 70-55 and mov their record to 8-16 on the season. Zariah Tillman led the Lady Eagles with 13 points on the night, with 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
