The #4 Men's Basketball team was in Bartlesville the nigh of February 10th for a conference match-up with the Tabor College Bluejays. Coming off of an exciting win over #9 Southwestern College, the Eagles looked to maintain energy and keep their win streak alive. Doing exactly that, the Eagles were explosive throughout their 40 minutes of court time, taking the game 94-65.
Starting out strong, the Eagles were the first to score and take a 8-0 lead before the Bluejays got on the board. The Eagles were able to keep the energy on their side throughout the remainder of the first half as they went up 46-30 after the first 20 minutes of play. DJ Talton Jr. was able to lead the Eagles throughout the first half by scoring 11 of the Eagles points and forcing the Bluejays to turnover the ball multiple times.
Heading into the second half with a 16-point lead, the Eagles were able to keep the scoring drives alive and find momentum with solid runs. Coming off the bench, Nick Bene was superb for the Eagles, scoring 10 points quickly, as well as being defensively strong when it comes to rebounds. Ending the game 94-65, the Eagles matched their first half score of 46 with a 48 second half.
5 Eagles ended the night in double-digits when it came to scoring, DJ Talton Jr., Nick Bene, and Dylan Phillip leading the Eagles with 14 points each. In Bene's short 15 minutes, he was superb, scoring 14 points, accumulating 7 rebounds, and adding 2 assists to his totals. Another stand out off the bench was Daniel Oluwasuyi with 8 rebounds and two blocks on the night.
