The Lady Eagles were back on the road for a long trip up to York, Nebraska to face the York University Panthers on February 14th. Looking to notch out another win for an opportunity to play in the conference tournament, this game was pivotal for the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles started the game hot, putting up 11 points in the first 2 minutes of the game. After a slow few minutes, their offense got hot again, ending the first half with 31 points thanks to a last second 3-pointer from Haley Meely. As they entered the second quarter, the Lady Eagle's offense slowed down, giving the Panthers an opportunity to cut OKWU's lead down. Although the Lady Eagles maintained the lead going into halftime, they weren't comfortable with a 42-41 score.
Both teams knew they would need to ramp it up as they entered the third quarter, and they did just that. The Panthers eventually took their first lead of the game with 1 minute left on the clock in the third quarter, but the Lady Eagles quickly regained the lead by 1 going into the fourth quarter. After four back-to-back points, the Lady Eagles quickly jumped ahead of the Panthers. Though the Panthers did everything they could to get more opportunities to score, the Eagles were able to defend their lead, resulting in a big 75-70 win.
