The #4 Men's Basketball was on their home court for their final time this season, celebrating their seniors and looking to clench the KCAC Regular Season Championship with a win over their competitor the Avila University Eagles. Showing up and showing out, the Eagles were able to secure a win over Avila and clench their third consecutive KCAC Regular Season Championship.
Starting off the first half with an 0-8 run, the Eagles were able to keep Avila at bay in order to dominate on both sides of the court. Not allowing Avila to score until the three-and-a-half-minute mark, the Eagles pushed the pace throughout the first 20 minutes of the game in order to leave the first half leading 33-25.
20 minutes of play left, the Eagles turned up the heat and scored 35 more points; holding Avila to a 28 point gave way to another Eagle win. Coming off the bench, Jaden Lietzke was superb. Scoring 14 points in 23 minutes of play, Lietzke went 4-6 in field goal makes per attempt and 6-7 from the free throw line.
The Eagles celebrated their four seniors tonight, Kaleb Stokes, Taylen Miller, David Brown, and Makiah Wade. These four seniors are really special to the OKWU Men's Basketball program due to their overall record while in the Eagles jersey.
