Women's Volleyball Cruise Past Bethany College

Lindsborg, KS —

The Oklahoma Wesleyan Lady Eagles volleyball team made quick work of Bethany College on Saturday, rolling to a straight-set victory (25-15, 25-18, 25-13) in a dominant road performance.

Senior outside hitter Evelyn Rohrberg was electric, hammering home 20 kills with a stellar .545 hitting percentage. Maia Rubio added 14 kills, while setter Sydney Collins ran the offense with precision, tallying 37 assists, 11 digs, and 2 blocks.

The Lady Eagles came out firing in the opening set, building an early lead and never letting Bethany settle in. Oklahoma Wesleyan's defense forced errors and kept the Swedes off balance, closing the first set with a 10-point margin.

Bethany showed more fight in the second set, but the Eagles responded with poise. Contributions from Maria Andrea Santa Cruz Cossich and Tijana Stojiljkovic helped maintain control, and the Eagles pulled away late to take the set.

In the third and final set, Oklahoma Wesleyan slammed the door shut. Rohrberg and Rubio continued to shine, and Maria Luisa Caycedo anchored the back row with 19 digs. The Eagles out-hit Bethany .325 to .104, out-blocked them 8 to 2, and outpaced them in every phase of the match.

With the win, Oklahoma Wesleyan improves to 19-2 on the season. The Lady Eagles return home to Bartlesville on Wednesday, October 29, where they'll host Avila University in a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
