OKWU women's basketball battled hard but came up short against Sterling College, falling 59-44 at home. The Lady Eagles started strong, taking a 12-7 lead after the first quarter, but Sterling responded with a dominant second half to secure the win. OKWU shot 37% from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, but struggled from beyond the arc.
Khassidy Warr led Oklahoma Wesleyan with 15 points and 5 rebounds, while Gracie Alexander added 11 points and 3 steals. Khamille Warr controlled the boards with 11 rebounds, contributing to OKWU's 27 total rebounds. Despite their efforts, turnovers proved costly as the Lady Eagles, leading to 18 points for Sterling.
With the loss, Oklahoma Wesleyan fell to 4-5 overall and 0-5 in KCAC play. The Lady Eagles will look to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup as they will face off against Southwestern College on December 10th, at 6:00 PM at home. With this capable talent among these Lady Eagles, they will look to turn this season around.
