Oklahoma Wesleyan's Explosive Offense Dominates Evangel in Game 1
The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles soared past Evangel with an impressive 11-2 victory on Tuesday, showcasing a consistent offense and solid pitching that left the Valor struggling to keep up.
Cole Hancock was dominant on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing just one earned run on six hits while striking out three. Jacob Morgan sealed the deal with three scoreless innings of relief, striking out two and silencing the Valor's bats.
The Eagles capitalized on Evangel's pitching struggles, drawing 11 walks and racking up eight hits to plate 11 runs. JT Maloney delivered a clutch performance, smashing a grand slam that highlighted a six-run third inning. Brenden Poindexter, Braydon Caldwell, and Luis Antigua each chipped in with timely hits, keeping the pressure on the Valor's pitching staff. Ravaughn Morgan put the cherry on top with a 2 run HR in the late innings of the game completely shutting down Evangel.
With the win, Oklahoma Wesleyan continues to build momentum throughout the season. They'll look to keep their bats hot and pitching stout as they prepare for their next match up against Bethany College. This will take place on Thursday April 2nd @ 12PM in Lindsborg, Kansas for a doubleheader. Go Eagles!
