OKWU women's soccer team headed to Jackson Tennessee and earned a 2-1 win over Lindsey Wilson. The Lady Eagles, now 3-1-0 on the season, showcased resilience and teamwork to secure the road victory. 

The match opened with a balanced first half, but it was OKWU who broke through just before halftime. In late minutes of the first half, sophomore midfielder Isabelle Simoneau found the back of the net off a well-placed assist from Ana Chavez, marking Simoneau's second goal of the season. Lindsey Wilson responded in the 70th minute with a goal leveling the score at 1-1. However, the Lady Eagles wasted no time reclaiming the lead. Just a few minutes later, Laura Gieseler netted her second goal of the season assisted by Ana Chavez sealing the 2-1 victory. In goal, Leona Kraus anchored the defense with five saves and just one goal allowed over 90 minutes. Kayla Herrera added offensive pressure with two shots, one on goal. These performances were instrumental in securing the Lady Eagles' third win of the season. 

With this win, OKWU continues to build momentum on a 2-game win streak heading into the heart of the season. Next the Lady Eagles look ahead to their next challenge against John Brown University on September 13th at 7:00 PM in Arkansas. As the season progresses this looks to be an impressive season.
