Women’s Basketball Drops Road Match Against USAO

Chickasha, OK –

The Oklahoma Wesleyan University women's basketball team came up short on the road on December 18th, falling 76–66 to the University of Science and Arts at Drover Fieldhouse. The Lady Eagles move to a 6–7 overall record following the matchup.

Science and Arts established an early edge, using efficient shooting to take a 23–15 lead after the opening quarter. Oklahoma Wesleyan responded in the second period with improved ball movement and defensive stops, matching the Drovers point-for-point to head into halftime trailing 38–30.

The game remained competitive coming out of the break, but USAO used a 17-point third quarter to maintain separation. Oklahoma Wesleyan continued to work for quality possessions on both ends and entered the final period trailing 55–44. The Lady Eagles made a push in the fourth quarter, scoring 22 points and shooting 50 percent from the field. Several late baskets trimmed the deficit, but the Drovers answered consistently down the stretch to secure the win.

Gracie Alexander led the Lady Eagles with 19 points, hitting three three-pointers and recording three steals. Kamryn Phoenix added 11 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Khassidy Warr and Khamille Warr each finished with 10 points. Oklahoma Wesleyan shot 35 percent from beyond the arc and converted 13-of-14 free throws in the contest.

Oklahoma Wesleyan reaches the midpoint of the season at 6–7 overall, with numerous opportunities remaining in conference play.
