OKWU in their second conference game in 2026, earned an 80-75 victory over Saint Mary on Wednesday night, using balanced scoring and late-game composure to secure the road win.
Temaje Izuagbe led the Eagles with 17 points, while Jaden Wilson added 12 points on near-perfect shooting. Yashi McKenzie chipped in 11, and Nathaniel Law delivered 12 points off the bench, helping OKWU's reserves outscore Saint Mary's bench 34-11.
The Eagles built a 46–37 halftime lead behind efficient offense and strong interior play, finishing with 40 points in the paint. Defensively, OKWU forced 18 turnovers, converting them into 24 points, and held the Spires to 30% from three.
Saint Mary closed the gap to one in the final minute, but the Eagles responded with clutch free throws from McKenzie and Wilson to put the game away.
The win moves Oklahoma Wesleyan to 13-2 overall and 8-1 in KCAC play. With momentum heading into this weekend, the Eagles look to put on an even better showing against Friends University. This matchup will be at home on Saturday, January 10th, at 5:00 PM. Go Eagles!
