The Oklahoma Wesleyan men's basketball team improved to 23–3 overall and 18–2 in conference play Saturday afternoon, earning an 86–50 win over York University on Senior Night and clinching the KCAC Regular Season Championship.
Before tip-off, the Eagles recognized their seniors and then followed with a dominant performance from start to finish. Oklahoma Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead and carried a 40–20 advantage into halftime before adding 46 second-half points to secure the victory.
Tamaja Izuagbe led the Eagles with 11 points to pace the offense. Yashi McKenzie added 10 points, while Amari Woods contributed 8 points and provided strong minutes off the bench. Several others added to the balanced scoring effort as Oklahoma Wesleyan finished with 86 points on 46.7 percent shooting from the floor.
The Eagles controlled the game defensively and on the glass, outrebounding York 50–22 and forcing 19 turnovers. Oklahoma Wesleyan turned those opportunities into 26 points and dominated inside with 40 points in the paint. The bench also made a major impact, accounting for 55 of the team's points.
With the win, the Eagles celebrated Senior Night with a conference title-clinching victory and will now shift their focus toward the postseason as regular-season play winds down.
