The Oklahoma Wesleyan softball team delivered a dominant performance Sunday afternoon, sweeping Hesston College in convincing fashion and continuing a strong start to the 2026 season.
The Lady Eagles came out swinging in game one, using an explosive start at the plate and solid pitching to secure a 10–0 victory. Oklahoma Wesleyan set the tone early, scoring four runs in the first inning before adding three more in both the second and third to build a commanding lead.
The Eagles tallied 13 hits in the contest, with several players contributing offensively. Raegan Rector led the way with three hits and two RBIs, while Maria Fory and Kami Withem each drove in two runs. Gracie Jones added two RBIs, and Brooklyn Purtell chipped in with an RBI to help power the lineup.
In the circle, Gabby Simpson earned the win after throwing four scoreless innings and striking out five. Addison Dorsay came in to finish the game as the duo combined to hold Hesston scoreless and limit them to just a handful of hits.
The momentum carried into game two as the Lady Eagles' offense erupted once again, this time in a 15–0 victory to complete the sweep. Oklahoma Wesleyan broke the game open with a huge second inning and never looked back.
Maria Fory delivered a standout performance, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs including a three-run home run. Abby Huie added two hits and two RBIs, while Brooklyn Purtell drove in three runs. Aubrie Matthews, Lailah Hernandez, and Kami Withem also contributed RBIs as the Eagles continued to apply pressure throughout the game.
In the circle, Yina Vargas earned the win after throwing three scoreless innings and striking out four while allowing just one hit. Makayla Treadwill came in to close out the game and secure the shutout as Oklahoma Wesleyan completed the sweep.
With the two wins, the Lady Eagles move to 7–3 overall on the season. Oklahoma Wesleyan will be back in action next weekend as they travel to compete in the Turf's Up Classic.
