OKWU Softball Leaves Branson Undefeated

Branson, MO —
Oklahoma Wesleyan wrapped up play at the Turf's Up Classic on Saturday with another strong day in Branson, Missouri. The Lady Eagles picked up two more wins to close out the weekend, finishing the tournament undefeated and moving to 11–3 overall after taking both games on the final day of competition.

Game 1 vs. Hannibal-LaGrange
Oklahoma Wesleyan set the tone early and never trailed, using a big first inning to take control in an 8–3 win over Hannibal-LaGrange. The Lady Eagles plated four runs in the opening inning and continued to add on through the middle innings to build a comfortable lead. Hannibal-LaGrange made a push with three runs in the fifth, but Oklahoma Wesleyan responded late with two more in the seventh to create separation and secure the win.

The Eagles finished with 13 hits in the game, led by Kami Withem, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Brooklyn Purtell delivered a big performance with four RBIs, while Abby Huie added two hits and a run scored. Maddie Ogle and Lailah Hernandez each drove in a run, and Gracie Jones crossed the plate twice. In the circle, Lydia Polk earned the win after going 4.2 innings, with Abigail Rogers closing out the final 2.1 innings and striking out four to secure the victory.

Game 2 vs. Park
Oklahoma Wesleyan followed the first win of the day with a 7–1 victory over Park later in the afternoon, using a steady offensive push and strong relief pitching to pull away. After Park scored first in the second inning, the Lady Eagles answered in the third to even things up before a four-run fourth inning gave Oklahoma Wesleyan control. The Eagles added two more in the fifth and kept Park quiet the rest of the way to finish off the win.

Huie finished with a hit, an RBI, and a walk to help lead the offense, while Hernandez reached base and scored twice with an RBI. Jayden Kakish and Withem each drove in a run, and Raegan Rector and Purtell added hits as Oklahoma Wesleyan made the most of its opportunities at the plate. In the circle, Gabby Simpson made the start before Rogers took over in relief and dominated, striking out seven over 3.2 scoreless innings to earn the win.
