Eagles Sweep Ottawa in Three-Game Road Series

Game 1 – Oklahoma Wesleyan 7, Ottawa 3

Oklahoma Wesleyan University opened the weekend series with a solid 7–3 road win over Ottawa University on Friday morning. After Ottawa scored first in the second inning, the Eagles responded with two runs in the third highlighted by B. Caldwell solo home run and an RBI single from J. Maloney. 

The Eagles continued to build their lead with solo home runs from D. Manzanillo in the fifth and J. Gutierrez in the sixth. D. Manzanillo also added an RBI double in the seventh to extend the margin. Ottawa attempted to rally with home runs from 2 players, but a two-run double from G. Morales in the ninth inning sealed the victory. 

A. Garcia earned the win on the mound, pitching seven innings while allowing three runs. J. Stangl closed out the final two innings in relief to secure the series-opening win. 

Game 2 – Oklahoma Wesleyan 9, Ottawa 6

The Eagles followed up Friday's win with a dramatic 9–6 comeback victory in Game 2 on Saturday. Oklahoma Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when J. Maloney blasted a two-run home run. Ottawa bounced back quickly and built a 6–2 advantage, fueled by a pair of home runs. 

Trailing by four runs entering the eighth inning, the Eagles began their rally behind a solo home run from L. Antigua. Oklahoma Wesleyan then erupted in the ninth inning, scoring six runs and sending 12 batters to the plate. L. Antigua delivered a two-run single during the rally, while W. Diaz, D. Manzanillo, and J. Gutierrez each added RBI hits to swing the game back in the Eagles' favor. 

A. Covarrubias picked up the win in relief after working three strong innings, and J. Stangl earned the save by shutting the door in the ninth inning. 

Game 3 – Oklahoma Wesleyan 7, Ottawa 1

Oklahoma Wesleyan completed the series sweep with a dominant 7–1 victory in the finale on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles struck first in the second inning before Ottawa briefly tied the game with a solo home run in the fourth. 

The turning point came in the sixth inning, when G. Morales launched a grand slam to right field to break the game open. D. Manzanillo then added a two-run home run in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach and cap the Eagles' scoring.

A. Luera led the way on the mound, allowing just one run on seven hits over six innings and five strikeouts to earn the win. A. Stephenson pitched a scoreless final inning as Oklahoma Wesleyan secured the sweep.
