Eagles Secure Spot in KCAC Championship

Salina, KS —

The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles are headed to the KCAC Tournament Championship after a 7–3 win over Tabor in semifinal action Friday afternoon.

Tabor struck early with two runs in the 1st inning, including a leadoff home run, and added another in the 3rd to take a 3–1 lead. The Eagles stayed composed and chipped away, getting on the board in the 2nd and adding another run in the 3rd to keep the game within reach.

Oklahoma Wesleyan evened things up in the 5th inning when Luis Antigua delivered an RBI single to tie the game at 3–3. From there, the Eagles' pitching and defense settled in, keeping Tabor scoreless over the final four innings.

The turning point came in the 8th inning as the Eagles' offense erupted. Gilbert Morales sparked the rally with a solo home run, followed by another solo shot from Braydon Caldwell. Later in the inning, Wally Diaz put the game out of reach with a two-run home run, capping off a four-run frame that gave Oklahoma Wesleyan a 7–3 advantage.

Diaz finished with two RBIs, while Antigua also drove in two runs. Morales and Caldwell each added a home run as part of an 11-hit performance for the Eagles.

On the mound, Gavin Florio delivered a complete game effort, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out five to earn the win and keep Oklahoma Wesleyan in control down the stretch.

With the victory, the Eagles advance to the KCAC Tournament Championship game, set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Oklahoma Wesleyan will face the winner of Kansas Wesleyan and McPherson with the conference title on the line.
