Jamie Peterson has been the head coach of Oklahoma Wesleyan University’s men’s soccer team for 15 years. During his tenure, he has developed one of the best college soccer programs in the country.

A graduate of OKWU, Peterson joined the staff in 2010. Since then, OKWU’s soccer team boasts an 82.8% winning percentage with a record of 273-48-22. Peterson has been named Conference Coach of the Year 11 times and United Coaches Regional Coach of the Year seven times (2015, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 & 2024).

Under his leadership, the Eagles have made the NAIA National Tournament for fourteen consecutive years (2011-2024, including the program’s first-ever appearance in the National Championship in 2020. At multiple points in Peterson’s tenure, OKWU has been ranked #1 in the nation. OKWU has been ranked in the NAIA top 25 poll, for 140 straight weeks.

Peterson has coached 46 NAIA All-Americans, the 2019 & 2023 NAIA National Player of the Year, the 2020 NAIA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and 10 NCCAA All-Americans.

All told, Peterson and the Eagles have qualified for 14 straight NAIA National Tournaments, won eight KCAC regular season championships (2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024), seven KCAC tournament championships (2015, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024), three MCAC regular season championships (2011, 2012, 2013) and two MCAC tournament championships (2011, 2012).

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Peterson serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for OKWU.
Peterson and his wife, Samantha, have two children and live in Bartlesville.

2024 – 22-2-0; KCAC regular season and tournament champions; advanced to NAIA National Quarter-Finals; entered Nationals as #2 in Coach Poll, finished the year ranked #5 in the country.
2023 – 17-2-5; KCAC regular season and tournament champions; advanced to NAIA National tournament Semi-Finals; finished season ranked #3 in the national poll.  NAIA National Player of the Year Stefan Cvetanovic (broke NAIA record for most career goals and points) 
2022 – 14-6-3; KCAC regular season and tournament champions; advanced to NAIA National tournament second round; finished season ranked #15 in national poll.
 2021 – 21-3-0; KCAC regular season and tournament champions; advanced to NAIA National Quarterfinals game; finished season ranked #5 in national poll.
2020 – 21-3-1; KCAC regular season and tournament champions; advanced to NAIA National Championship game; finished season ranked #2 in national poll
2019 – 19-5-0; team scored 117 goals, a program record; advanced to the NAIA Quarterfinals; NAIA National Player of the Year Stefan Lukic
2018 – 20-4-0; advanced to quarterfinals of NAIA National Tournament
2017 – 22-1-2, the best record in the nation; school record for goals scored (107); advanced to program’s first NAIA Semi-final before losing to eventual champion Wayland Baptist
2016 – 19-1-2; Ranked #1 in nation; KCAC champions; NAIA National Tournament appearance
2015 – 20-1-1 (program record for wins at the time); KCAC regular season and tournament champions; NAIA National Tournament appearance
2014 – 14-5-2; NAIA National Tournament appearance; MCAC Tournament Runner-up
2013 – 19-4-0; MCAC regular season champions; advanced to NAIA quarterfinals for the first time in program history
2012 – 19-1-1; MCAC regular season and tournament champions; NAIA National Tournament Appearance
2011 – 14-5-2; MCAC regular season and tournament champions; NAIA National Tournament appearance
2010 – 12-5-3; NCCAA Regional Final appearance, lost to Southwestern Christian University 1-2.
