Jon Updyke joined the OKWU volleyball staff in the summer of 2022.

Updyke, who is from Tustin, California, graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan in 2019 with his MBA. While he attending OKWU, he served the volleyball program as a graduate assistant for two years. He now rejoins the staff for his third season.

Updyke played volleyball for 3 years at Crean Lutheran High School. He also was a setter for two different club teams, Balboa Bay and the Riptides, and represented those teams at the Junior Olympics.

One of Updyke’s favorite quotes comes from the legendary John Wooden:
