Shawn Woods has served as the head softball coach for the Lady Eagles since 2021.
Woods, who is originally from Beebe, Arkansas, joined the OKWU coaching staff after serving as the head softball coach of Pangburn High School in Pangburn, Arkansas, for four years. During his tenure at Pangburn, his team won 70% of its games, and Woods saw seven of his players receive scholarships to play softball at the collegiate level.
A graduate of Lyon College, Woods played four years of baseball at the collegiate level.

“I want my girls to see Christ in me and a reason for the hope that I have. I want them to come to OKWU and know that they will receive a top-notch education, develop their skills on the softball field, and will build character and relationships during their time here that they will take with them the rest of their lives,” Woods said. “We are committed to building a top softball program in NAIA, focusing on accountability, communication, being great teammates, and giving it 100% effort-in softball and in life. I want them to understand that although I am their coach, I am also a resource and want to help them in any way I possibly can in order to help them be successful.”
