Box Score It was a battle, but when it was all said and done, the regular-season KCAC Champions did enough to get past a feisty McPherson squad in Wednesday's KCAC Semifinal matchup. McPherson held the high-scoring Eagles below their season average, but in the end the Eagles proved too tough, winning 2-1 in overtime.
Recap:
- Both offenses were slow to get rolling in the early portion of the game, but OKWU's up-tempo attack finally broke through in the 21st minute when they forced a McPherson mistake that led to an own goal. OKWU took a 1-0 lead on the blunder that they would carry with them to halftime.
- In the 74th minute, Samuel Box headed in a score for McPherson, sneaking it past the OKWU defense to tie up the game.
- At the end of regulation, neither team had broken the tie.
- It took nearly the entire overtime period, but in the 99th minute, Lucas Mauro received the feed from Edgar Rissi Osuna and scored the game-winning goal to give the Eagles their 18th win of the season.

- OKWU's offensive pressure was evident in the shot count, as they produced 21 shots in the afternoon. McPherson only had 9 shots.
- OKWU now has a 13-0 record against conference opponents this season.

- The KCAC Championship Match will take place on Saturday, November 13, at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. The Eagles are set to face off against Tabor, in a rematch of a late September game that OKWU won 6-0. However, Tabor is 9-1-1 since the first matchup with the Eagles and earned the #2 seed in the KCAC Tournament.
