Box Score Bartlesville, OK – The #14 Men's Soccer team kicked off their week with a nonconference, preseason match-up against the Southwestern Christian University Eagles. OKWU came into this competition 1-1-1 on the season with 2 prior Top 25 competitions, while SCU entered 1-3 on the season. Rainy weather did not stop the two teams from putting up a fight, as the 90 minutes of play time was done through on and off rain storms.
Scoring first, SCU jumped on the board in the first half; 32 minutes into play and leading 1-0 going into the second half. A 1-0 ball game in favor of SCU until the 60th minute of play with a goal from OKWU my Matheus Ulrich. With just 15-minute left in the matchup, both teams were on overdrive as the SCU Eagles rose above scoring 2 more goals within 5 minutes of each other. Trailing 3-1 with 10 minutes left, the OKWU Eagles made it interesting by pushing the pace of the game and scoring two goals in order to tie the game up 3-3 with 7 minutes remaining.
Outshooting SCU 16-3, OKWU was unable to come up with another goal in order to take the win and the game ended in a draw.
