The #6 Women's Volleyball team hosted the York University Lady Panthers this morning for a KCAC match-up between the two. Coming into the game 20-1 overall, the Lady Eagles looked to expand their 16-game win streak and take down another KCAC opponent.
Taking down the Lady Panthers in 3 sets, the Lady Eagles were quick to the punch and only got better with time. Taking the first set 25-16, the set started off as a back and forth game until the Lady Eagles 14
th point, as they went on to take a 5-0 run and close off the set in control.
Going on to take the second set in the same way, the Lady Eagles won 25-16 and went up 2-0 early in the game. Having their best set in the third, the Lady Eagles took down the Panthers 25-13, winning the game in 3 quick sets.
Three Lady Eagles were strong offensively as
Maddy McKinney,
Evelyn Rohrberg, and
Maia Rubio combined for 36 of the Lady Eagles 52 kills.
Sydney Collins had herself an impressive game from the setter role, ending her 3 sets with 44 assists, 4 kills, and 5 digs. Defensively,
Maria Luisa Caycedo was excellent as she accumulated 14 digs.
The Lady Eagles are back on the court on October 16
th in Springfield, Missouri to face off against the Evangel University Lady Valor.
