The #4 Men's Soccer team hosted the Avila University Eagles on Wednesday night for another conference match-up. Heading into the match with an undefeated conference record, the Eagles looked to dominate another KCAC competitor and improve overall.
With that mentality, the Eagles were excellent on both sides of the field throughout the 45 minutes of play, ending the game with Avila with a 5-1 win. Scoring the Eagles first goal in the first half, Kirill Pahkomov and
Joao Neves put together a quick drive in the box in order to get the ball to
Matheus Ulrich for goal number 1. The Eagles didn't stop there as they went on to score their second goal in the 43
rd minute off the foot of
Carter Ligi, assisted by
Luis Vergara.
Entering the second half with a 2-0, the Eagles were right back where they left off, scoring a quick goal 30 seconds into the 2
nd from
Pol Mur. A 3-0 lead and complete control of the ball, the Eagles went on to score 2 more goals and take a 5-1 win over Avila. The Eagles outshot Avila an impressive 40-1 and accumulated 21 corner kicks.
The Eagles are back in action Saturday, October 5
th for a homecoming game match-up against the Sterling College Warriors for a 3:00PM kick-off.
