Box Score Bartlesville, OK –
The #9 Women's Soccer team hosted the Sterling College Lady Warriors on October 5
th for a conference match-up between the two. Coming into the match 8-0-2 and undefeated in conference play, the Lady Eagles looked to take down another conference opponent on their home turf.
Starting off as a back and forth ball game, the Lady Eagles quickened their pace and took strong possessions in order to keep the ball in scoring contention. Scoring the first goal of the game in the 20
th minute of play,
Tania Mocholi and
Alana Doherty put together a drive from midfield into the box in order for
Taylor Witthauer to score and give the Lady Eagles the lead.
This goal gave the Lady Eagles momentum right off the bat, as they went to score again quickly in the 21
st minute with a goal from
Tania Mocholi, assisted by
Linn Joelsson. The Lady Eagles went on to score 3 more goals in the remainder of play, with
Tania Mocholi scoring 2 of the 5 goals for the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles defense was on full display throughout the 90 minutes of play, led by
Elise Lofnertz and Sunny Rassmusen, the Lady Eagles were able to limit the Lady Warriors to 1 single shot throughout the entire game.
The Lady Eagles are back in action this upcoming Wednesday, traveling to Wichita, Kansas for a conference match-up against Friends University.
