The #2 Men's Soccer team was on the road Wednesday night as they traveled to face off against conference rival the Friends University Falcons. Always a fight to the finish between the two, the Eagles entered the match undefeated in conference play, and looked to keep it that way.
A quite chipper 90 minutes of play between the two, the game ended with a total of 12 cards, 4 to Friends and 8 to the Eagles. 1 of those cards being a red to
Joao Neves in the 55
th minute, gave edge to the Falcons as the Eagles played the remained 30 minutes of play with a man down.
Scoring first, the Eagles jumped on the board with a goal from Nikia Pakhomov in the 14
th minute, following up their second goal in the 36
th minute from
Matheus Ulrich. With a 2-0 lead, the Eagles were comfortable, until a penalty kick opportunity for Friends as they crept closer to scoring possibly. A save from goal keeper
Oliver Scott took the Eagles to their feet as they picked up the pace in the second half. The Falcons responded in the 72
nd minute with a goal, but that wasn't enough as the Eagles scored once again in the 789
th minute off the foot of
Pol Mur.
Although being outshot 15-12, the Eagles took home the KCAC victory 3-2 and remain undefeated in conference play in the impressive 90 minute match-up.
The Eagles are back on the road this upcoming Saturday as they travel to York, Nebraska to face off against another conference contender the York University Panthers.
