The #9 Women's Soccer team was on the road for the first time in a week and a half to Wichita, Kansas to face off against the Friends University Lady Falcons. Both teams heading into the match-up undefeated in conference play, the Lady Eagles entered with a 4-0 conference record, while the Lady Falcons were 5-0.
Knowing this would be a top of the conference match-up, the Lady Eagles went out and took strong possessions in order to take down the Lady Falcons 3-0. A 3-0 win, and a hat trick from none other than KCAC goals scored leader,
Tania Mocholi.
Scoring the first goal in buzzer beater fashion,
Alana Doherty put together a solid run with 3 seconds left in order for Mocholi to score her first of three goals at 44:59. With momentum and exciting energy, the Lady Eagles came into the second half quickly, scoring the second goal of the game at 46:21.
The Lady Eagles outshot the Lady Falcons 16-9 with 12 of their 16 shots on goal.
Carlota Alcalde was superb in goal for the Lady Eagles, ending her 90 minutes of play with 6 saves.
The Lady Eagles are back on the road this upcoming Saturday as they travel to York, Nebraska to face off against the York University Lady Panthers.
