The #2 Men's Soccer was back on the road on November 13
th to Wichita, Kansas for the KCAC Tournament Championship match-up against the Ottawa University Braves. Looking to clench their second championship on the year, the Eagles needed to be excellent against the 4
th seeded Braves.
Strong possessions and stout defense was a majority of the game between the two. Giving way to strong drives by the Eagles as they out-shot the Braves 10 to 2 with only 4 shots on goal. Only allowing the Braves to take 2 shots in 90 minutes, the Eagles defense was vital, being lead by Nikita Pahkomov and Lucas Miranda.
With a corner in the 86
th minute, the Eagles were able to rally together with 4 minutes remaining, scoring a last minute goal off the foot of
Pol Mur, assisted by
Matheus Ulrich. Taking the 1-0 lead with 4 minutes left, the Eagles locked down the their defense and took the match.
With the win, the Eagles earn the KCAC Tournament Championship, completely sweeping through their KCAC opponents all year long. The Eagles look to open the NAIA National Tournament this upcoming week as they await their opponents and location of play.
