The #2 Men's Soccer team hit the road to Wichita, Kansas for the KCAC Tournament Semi-Finals, facing off against the Bethel College Threshers. Looking to clench another victory and their chance to advance to the KCAC Tournament Championship, the Eagles needed to be quick to the punch and score early and often.
Aback and forth ball game through the first 27 minutes of play, the Eagles fought through a strong Bethel defense and scored in the 28
th minute off the foot of
Joao Neves. Opening the gate for the Eagles, they then went on to score another goal in the 1
st, followed by four goals in the second.
The Threshers fought back late in the second half with 2 goals in the 74
th and 83
rd minute, unable to overcome their deficit.
Julian Tovar was excellent for the Eagles, coming off the bench and scoring three goals in the second half for the Eagles for a hat trick. Following closely behind,
Joao Neves went on to score two goals for the Eagles, one in the first half and one in the second.
The Eagles outshot the Threshers 25 to 9 with 9 of those shots on goal.
With the victory over the Threshers, the Eagles advance to the KCAC Tournament Championship game on November 13
th at 1:00PM, as they are set to face off against the Ottawa University Braves.
