The #4 Men's Soccer team opened their 2024 season with a home match on August 27^th against the #9 Missouri Valley College Vikings.

While the Vikings came off of a 3-1 win over Columbia, the Eagles looked to start season off on the right foot and be competitive with a Top 10 opponent.

With a quick start to the match and back and forth possession between the two teams, the Eagles were the first to strike with a goal from Pol Mur, assisted by Julian Tovar in the 7^th minute of play. Unable to put together another opportunity, the first half ended with a 1-0 lead over the Vikings.

Throughout the second half, the Eagles were able to put up multiple shots in order to create chances against the Vikings. With multiple shifts in possession between the two, the Eagles were able to put together another scoring drive in the 82^nd minute of play with a goal from Joao Neves, assisted by Carter Ligi.

The Vikings were able to put together a scoring drive late in the 87^th minute to make the game a 2-1 ball game in favor of the Eagles. Concluding a rather chipper game, the Eagles were able to secure the win over a Top 15 opponent and kick off season in exciting fashion.

The Eagles are back in Bartlesville this upcoming Friday, August 30^th for a 7:00 PM kick-off against William Penn University.
