Looking to compete it their 3
rd match of the season, the #6 Men's Soccer team was set to face off at a neutral site against the Midland University Warriors on September 11
th for a 1:00PM tip-off. A rather warm game day for both teams, consisted in a dominant performance from the Eagles in order to improve to 2-1 on the season.
A quick start to the match-up, both teams maintained solid possession of the ball until the 11
th minute. Taking control and getting on the board first with a goal from
Julian Tovar, the Eagles jumped ahead 1-0 with plenty of time left in the game. Coming off the bench,
Joao Neves was excellent for the Eagles, scoring 2 goals in the first half, one on a penalty kick and the other with an assist from
Uros Rosic in the 32
nd minute.
With complete control of the game and a 6-0 lead, the Eagles started the 2
nd half with confidence and drive. Scoring two more goals in the second half, the Eagles ended the game 8-0, defeating the Vikings.
An impressive game all around for the Eagles, ending the day out shooting the Vikings 21-5 with 12 shots on goal. Along with that, 6 different Eagles scored a goal on the day, while goal keeper
Marko Rodic kept the Vikings off the board with 3 saves.
The Eagles are back in action this upcoming Friday in Bartlesville for a match-up against the #14 MACU Evangels.
