Saturday night our Lady Eagles traveled to Hillsboro, Kansas for a conference match up against the Tabor Bluejays. The Lady Eagles battled through the night, eventually falling short in a hard-fought game. Despite their effort, they were unable to overcome a strong opponent, losing with a final score of 41-71.
Leading for the Lady Eagles was
Gracie Alexander, who gave an impressive performance with 10 points shooting 3-for-7. She shot 2-for-5 from the three-point line and went 2-for-4 from the free-throw line. Alexander also contributed 3 rebounds and 2 steals, proving to be consistent on both ends of the floor.
Jaelin Glass added 6 points to the scoreboard, highlighting her hustle with 3 rebounds while also keeping the defense on their toes.
Shade Richardson, though struggling with her shooting, continued to fight hard, contributing 7 rebounds and 2 assists while going 2-for-2 at the free-throw line.
Rashan Smith's presence on the floor was strong as well, finishing with 8 points and 3 rebounds in just 16 minutes of play. In addition,
Haley Meely contributed with 9 points, including a three-pointer, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds continued to show determination on both sides of the court.
Although the Lady Eagles struggled with shooting, making only 14 of 47 field goals (29.8%) and 3 of 9 from the three-point line, they never gave up and fought to the end. However, due to turnovers and missed shots from the Eagle's offense they were unable to find a rhythm, leading to their 11th loss of the season. This brings their overall record to 9-11.
Despite the tough loss, the Lady Eagles showed incredible determination. With each player giving their all and the team continuing to push forward. They will look to bounce back in their next game, using this performance as motivation to work even harder and continue improving.
January 29th is the Lady Eagles next match up against The Avila University Eagles. This game is on Wednesday, in Kansas City, MO with tip off set for 5:30pm.
